Brett Favre out of retirement: Vikings go for Superbowl

Favre joins the Vikings in training camp for one more shot at glory
Brett Favre joined teammates, Steve Hutchinson, Jared Allen and Ryan Longwell on a private jet to Minnesota where he was greeted by 100′s of fans. All signs are pointing to Favre being a Viking as soon as today and getting on the practice field in the next day or two.
US Sportsbooks adjust Futures
Online bookmakers adjusted prices on futures. The American sportsbook, BetUS.com, has the Vikings at +600 to win the Superbowl this year while the biggest US bookmaker, Bodog.com, has them as 12/1.
Nobody knows for sure exactly how healthy the 40 year Favre is at the moment but all reports say he’s in “good enough” shape to play & compete. The Vikings need Favre if they have a shot at winning and Favre needs the Vikings as there are few other teams that would give the aging quarterback a starting position.
Tarvaris Jackson was set to be the starter as QB for the Vikings this season. He says he’s not upset by Favre’s decision to return.
“I feel like if my number’s called I’m going to be ready,” Jackson said after practice. “And I’m going to continue to try to work hard and get better. That’s all I can do.”
Other players tweeted their support including receiver Bernard Berrian who wrote: “Brett Favre for President!!”
